ABOUT US
OUR VISION: We seek to preserve our environment and champion a healthy and resilient community.

OUR MISSION: Create and support local initiatives that promote sustainability in the Stillwater, Minnesota area.
The idea for Sustainable Stillwater MN (SSMN) began in May 2013 with a community-wide visioning session led by passionate high school students determined to create a greener community. In June 2016, SSMN was officially introduced to the public, and on March 4, 2019, it became a 501(c)(3) nonprofit charitable organization. Since then, we've been moving "full steam ahead" to reduce Stillwater's carbon footprint and create a community where future generations can live, work, and play.

To maximize our impact, SSMN operates through four strategic pillars, each supporting targeted programs and projects. SSMN integrates mitigation and adaptation strategies to address climate change impacts and preserve the environment for future generations. By aligning our projects and programs with our pillars, we aim to build a more sustainable, resilient, and vibrant Stillwater community.
