Protecting and restoring ecosystems through conservation and education.

The Environment Pillar is dedicated to preserving and restoring the natural ecosystems that make Stillwater a unique and vibrant community. By focusing on conservation efforts, pollution reduction, and habitat preservation, we empower residents to become stewards of local water resources, wildlife, and green spaces. Through education and hands-on projects, we aim to engage the community in protecting our environment for future generations.

Pillar Goals:

Our goal is to encourage community involvement in protecting local ecosystems, enhancing biodiversity, and reducing pollution through collaborative conservation efforts. Together, we can make a positive impact on our natural surroundings.

Program:
Environmental Incubator

This program supports innovative projects aimed at protecting local ecosystems and promoting environmental stewardship. By nurturing new ideas and engaging the community, the program helps turn environmental challenges into opportunities for growth and learning.

Projects:

Bird City Stillwater

The Bird City Stillwater Project focuses on promoting the conservation of local bird species through public education and collaborative efforts. This project engages the community in bird conservation while raising awareness of the impact of environmental factors such as light pollution and invasive species.

Protect Our Waters

The Protect Our Waters Project encourages residents and businesses to adopt storm drains, helping to reduce pollution runoff into local water bodies. This initiative also provides educational materials and resources to raise awareness about water pollution and its impact on the environment.

Cigarette Litter

The Cigarette Litter Project seeks to reduce the amount of cigarette waste that pollutes the environment. By placing disposal units in key areas and educating the public, this project aims to create a cleaner, healthier community.

Rain Gardens

Rain gardens help manage stormwater runoff, reduce flooding, and provide crucial habitat for pollinators. This project promotes the installation and maintenance of rain gardens while offering educational tools to support their long-term success.
