We are thrilled to announce that Sustainable Stillwater MN has been awarded $2,500 for General Operating from the St. Croix Valley Environmental Grant Program (FY25) funding cycle. This is an exceptional honor, especially as this was the inaugural grant opportunity from the newly established St. Croix Valley Environmental endowed fund.
This grant supports our mission to create and support local initiatives that promote sustainability in the Stillwater, Minnesota area. Since our inception in May 2013, when high school students led a community-wide visioning session, we have been dedicated to reducing our community's carbon footprint and fostering a healthier, more resilient place for future generations to live, work, and play. Officially introduced in June 2016 and established as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in 2019, we focus on four key areas: ENERGY, TRANSPORTATION, ECONOMY, and ENVIRONMENT.
The Environmental Grant Program, launched on Earth Day in 2024, is designed to meet the ever-changing environmental needs of the region. Organizations with the environment at the core of their mission can apply for general operating support, while other organizations can seek program support for hands-on environmental activities. This program aims to fund projects that make a tangible impact on the local environment, fostering a community that values and protects its natural resources.
For Sustainable Stillwater MN, this grant will enhance our efforts across our key focus areas. It will allow us to launch new initiatives, support ongoing projects, and engage more community members in our mission. The benefits to our local community include improved air quality, better transportation options, economic growth through sustainable practices, and a cleaner, healthier environment for all residents.
We are grateful for the St. Croix Valley Foundation's recognition and support of our mission. This grant is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our team, volunteers, and supporters. Together, we are making a difference!
Thank you to everyone involved in this achievement.
