June 1st Lily Lake Rain Garden Planting

A huge thank you to all the hardworking folks who volunteered their time and energy planting native plants at Lily Lake's new rain garden on June 1st! 💙💚💙💚

After working for years to reduce stormwater runoff to Lily Lake through rain gardens, gully stabilization projects, stormwater pond retrofits, and volunteer clean-up activities, this, volunteers' help on this final project, is expected to capture enough phosphorus to allow Lily Lake to be taken off of the state’s impaired waters list. Volunteers are needed to help put plants in the ground. The infiltration basin provides additional pollution reduction for Lily Lake. The basin was completed in 2021 by the Middle St. Croix Watershed Management Organization of the Washington Conservation District.
