August was a fantastic month for celebrating our Bicycle Friendly Community spirit in Stillwater!
Kicking things off, the inaugural Stillwater Trail Etiquette class, hosted by the ever-knowledgeable Rick Heidick at Pedego Cycles, took place on August 5th. With a keen group of eight enthusiasts attending, the class delved deep into important state laws and shared invaluable tips to enhance, secure, and elevate the fun of the trail experience for everyone. The best part? This marks just the beginning, with many more trail etiquette classes set to roll out in and around Stillwater.
Then came the exhilarating third annual Bridge the Valley – Bike Rally on August 13th! Not only a significant fundraiser for the Stillwater Sunrise Rotary Club but also an event proudly backed by SSMN, the rally plays a pivotal role in underlining our Bicycle Friendly Community credentials. With an outstanding turnout of 619 cyclists embracing one of five scenic routes in the enchanting St. Croix Valley, the day culminated in a grand celebration. Riders were spoilt with delicious root beer floats, refreshing Lift Bridge Beer, a variety of food trucks, and lively bands in the picturesque setting of Lowell Park by the St. Croix River. What a month for Stillwater's biking community! 🚴♂️🎉
