Sustainable Stillwater MN, in collaboration with the Bicycle Friendly Workgroup, is proud to partner with the Gateway Browns Creek Trail Association and other community organizations to enhance the safety and enjoyment of our local trails. Together, we are committed to fostering a more inclusive and secure environment for all trail users by promoting the “7 Trail Safety Guidelines.”
In support of this initiative, the City of Stillwater has taken proactive steps by approving and moving forward with the installation of trail signs featuring these important guidelines. These signs will soon be placed along the Loop Trail on the Minnesota side of the St. Croix River. Additionally, the City is working closely with its Wisconsin counterparts to ensure that the same safety messages are shared across the entire Loop Trail, uniting both sides of the river with a shared commitment to trail safety.
The new trail signs are scheduled to be installed by Spring 2025. These signs aim to remind walkers, runners, cyclists, and all trail users of simple, yet essential, practices that contribute to a safer and more enjoyable experience for everyone. By following the 7 Trail Safety Guidelines, we can all play a part in creating a more welcoming and harmonious trail environment.
Stay tuned for more updates as this project progresses, and let's continue working together to make our trails safer and more enjoyable for all!
