Volunteer Opportunity for Groups
Looking for a volunteer opportunity for your group or company employees? We'll work with you to plan a trash dash in a location that means something to you.
LET'S PLAN
Trash Dashes are normally about an hour-long “dash” to pick up as much litter as possible in an area. We ask volunteers to bring garden gloves/trash pickers and 5gal buckets/paper bags to use during the dash, and then combine litter in as few plastic bags as possible at the end. Garden gloves, trash pickers, and buckets are recommended to cut down on plastic waste created by the event. However, we do bring extra gloves and bags for folks who forget or don’t have those items. Why Trash Dashes? Trash Dashes are quick, fun, and instantly rewarding! It helps folks connect with nature, increases activity levels, and helps clean up our community. Creating a healthy environment is vital to creating a sustainable community for all to live, work, and play in. Every piece of trash that is taken away to be recycled or deposited in a landfill means there is one less dangerous item for birds, turtles, or fish to swallow. Cleanups also restore these creatures’ habitats. Why do a Trash Dash with Sustainable Stillwater MN? You would be supporting us while we help support you and the community. Double win! Start thinking of a location around the Greater Stillwater Area that we could target for your trash dash! When you're ready, contact Kelsey to schedule a date/time.
