Cimarron Community Farm CSA: Fresh, Local, Organic Produce at Your Doorstep

Cimarron Community Farm, a proud member of our Green Business Directory, offers an excellent way to access fresh, organic produce throughout the summer. Their CSA program allows community members to invest in the farm at the beginning of the season, ensuring that farmers have the resources they need for seeds and supplies. In return, members receive weekly boxes of seasonal produce grown right here in our area.

What You Get:

  • 16 weeks of fresh, local, organic produce (from mid-June through September)

  • A typical summer box may include fresh herbs, tomatoes, zucchini, carrots, broccoli, lettuce, kale, onions, eggplant, bell peppers, and beets!

  • Pick-up: On-farm every Wednesday from 4 PM - 7 PM

  • Cost: $530 for the full summer share (contact Cimarron for flexible payment options)

St. Croix Valley Food Alliance: Strengthening Our Local Food Economy

The St. Croix Valley Food Alliance (SCVFA) is another wonderful organization making strides toward building a thriving, resilient, and equitable local food economy. Their mission is to connect local farmers with consumers while promoting sustainable farming practices and offering high-quality products.

Through their network of local farms, SCVFA provides everything from fresh produce and meats to cheese, honey, and even flowers. SCVFA also promotes climate-friendly farming practices such as rotational grazing, low-till agriculture, and organic farming. This community-driven effort not only supports the local economy but also ensures that food is grown and prepared with the planet in mind.

How SCVFA Supports the Community:

  • Farmers’ Markets: SCVFA farmers sell their goods at markets throughout the St. Croix River Valley and in the Twin Cities area.

  • Winter Markets: Don’t miss the SCVFA Winter Markets at Abrahamson’s Nursery in St. Croix Falls (Nov-Dec) and The Acreage in Osceola (3rd Saturdays in January, February, and March).

  • Sustainable Practices: SCVFA members prioritize climate-friendly farming techniques and offer value-added products, such as processed meats, cheese, and specialty foods.

  • Community Impact: SCVFA supports 1,120 members through CSA subscriptions, donates to service agencies, and makes food accessible to everyone in the region.
