WORKGROUPS

Join one of our workgroups as a volunteer and help us move Stillwater forward to be more resilient and sustainable. It's the everyday local citizens, like you, that make the real difference in our city's future.

GREEN BUSINESS DIRECTORY

The Green Business Directory is an online public resource listing environmentally and socially conscious businesses in Washington County or that serve Washington County. Businesses must apply to be in the Directory by filling out an application that has strict criteria about their products and practices from GreenAmerica.org.

BIRD CITY STILLWATER

Stillwater is now a “Bird City” with signs posted at the city’s entrances so that visitors will know that Stillwater appreciates and cares for our birds. What can Stillwater residents do to protect and appreciate our native birds?

TRASH DASH BY REQUEST

Looking for a volunteer opportunity for your group or company employees? We'll work with you to plan a trash dash in a location that means something to you.

BICYCLE FRIENDLY COMMUNITY

The Bicycle Friendly Community Workgroup is working to make Stillwater and the surrounding areas more "bicycle-friendly" by working with the city council and other key players. The purpose of the BFC Workgroup is to continually improve the accessibility, functionality, safety, and preference of bicycling in Stillwater.

NATURAL RESOURCES

Recognizing the vast amount of feasible work needed and the limited resources for city and township land management, the Natural Resources Work Group of Sustainable Stillwater MN offers a source of experienced individuals who can plan and manage projects that require neighborhood-level volunteer assistance. Sustainability is best reached through broad participation.

RAIN GARDEN MAINTENANCE

Maintaining rain gardens throughout Stillwater is a full-time job that requires many willing volunteers from neighboring homes. If you live near one of these gems and would like to help out, please contact our lead, Ruth Alliband. She would thoroughly enjoy the assistance in maintaining these important parts of our community.
